KCC, KTO organize ‘K-Beauty Hangout’

The Filipino obsession with Korean beauty products blossomed with the rise of “Hallyu,” the global wave of Korean pop culture. Filipinos admire Korean celebrities and idols and eagerly adopt their beauty trends and integrate them into their daily routines.

In light of this trend, the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) Philippines and the Korea Tourism Organization Manila Office collaborated to host the “K-Beauty Hangout” event on April 12 at SM Aura in Taguig City. This event provided Korean beauty enthusiasts with an immersive experience with various activities and opportunities to take home coveted products.

Throughout the event, participants took part in K-Beauty Workshops, mainly focusing on daily makeup in the summer season, led by esteemed Korean makeup artists from Jenny House. Brands such as Innisfree, Laneige and Mise-en-scene, under Amore Pacific, also showcased their products at experiential stands.

Guests had the chance to undergo beauty makeovers in the makeup and hair styling room, while also indulging in Korean nail art and wellness food tastings. They enjoyed Korean tea and captured memories in the photo zone. Visitors even had a chance to win special prizes through like and follow events organized by KTO and KCC.

The “K-Beauty Hangout” served as a precursor to the biggest beauty event, the “Korea Beauty Festival 2024,” which was scheduled to take place in Seoul from June 1 to 30. This festival promises experiential booths tailored to foreign tourists, tourism product sales opportunities and a wide range of K-culture events, all showcased at Seoul attractions including Gwanghwamun Square.
