Iran displays a homegrown drone at the Iraq Defense Fair

TEHRAN – Iran has showcased its homegrown Mohajer 6 drone at a defense fair in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Iran’s defense and military products were in the spotlight at the exhibition, especially with the debut of the Mohajer-6 combat drone, which attracted the attention of many foreign participants.

Manufactured by the ground forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the UAV has capabilities including carrying a multi-spectral surveillance payload and up to four precision-guided munitions.

The Mohajer-6 is a mid-range combat drone equipped with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. In addition, it can carry laser-guided munitions for air-to-ground attacks.

This Iranian drone stands out for its maximum speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) and an impressive endurance of 12 hours, allowing it to cover large areas.

The Mohajer-6 is designed to return to base after each mission and offers a sustainable and flexible concept of operations (CONOPS).

With its cost-effectiveness and high performance, the Mohajer-6 has become an important asset for armed forces in need of reliable unmanned aerial vehicles.

The International Security and Defense Exhibition, attended by military dignitaries from 22 countries, including representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Support of the Islamic Republic, showcased various achievements of the military industry, such as Mohajer drones, Gaza Long-Range Drones, Dehlawiyeh anti-war drones. armored missiles, air defense systems and personal weapons.

Iran also displayed anti-UAV systems, border guard systems and thermal cameras at the event.

In addition, Iran’s electronic industry has demonstrated expertise in electronic warfare, anti-drone systems, border surveillance and thermal imaging technology, highlighting Iran’s commitment to international innovation and defense capabilities.

112 international military equipment companies participated in the exhibition, underscoring its significance on the world stage.

The exhibition, organized by the United Company for Exhibitions and Conferences in coordination with the General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services, started Saturday in Baghdad and will last four days.

This twelfth session of the exhibitions, under the patronage of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, facilitated international cooperation and the exchange of defense technologies.

In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have made notable breakthroughs in the production of a wide range of indigenous equipment, helping the armed forces become self-sufficient. Iranian officials have reaffirmed the country’s steadfast commitment to increasing military capabilities, including missile power, solely for defense and deterrence purposes.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to strengthen Iran’s defense capabilities.

Despite historic constraints, Iran witnessed an unprecedented $1 billion in military exports last year, marking a significant shift. This milestone underlines Iran’s growing influence in the international marketplace, paving the way for continued advancements in military technology and strategic capabilities.
