Raleigh, North Carolina – A litter of beagle puppies was found in a dumpster. The poor baby dogs had hardly any fur and were covered in sores!

Fortunately, Beagle puppies Sky, Sweetie, Zuma and Rocky are now safe at Triangle Beagle Rescue in North Carolina.

Leann Tenbusch of the dedicated beagle rescue organization told Newsweek that they named the pups after characters from Paw Patrol because they “wanted to name them something cute and innocent to give them a fresh start in their new rescued lives.”

The puppies were in poor condition when they were found in a dumpster in rural Virginia.

As a TikTok clip from Triangle Beagle Rescue shows, the little dogs were covered in sores and had most of their fur bitten and scratched off. One puppy has cloudy eyes and could very well be blind.

Users were shocked by the shape they found themselves in.

“I don’t understand how anyone could do this to those sweet babies,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “I can’t wait to see the recovery.”

These little beagles are lucky to have been rescued, because without help they might not have survived.

According to Tenbusch, the pups were also lucky because many rural rescues are unable to provide medical care and are forced to euthanize animals in need.

The puppies are now on the road to recovery and are already feeling better after just two baths.

“We expect it will take about one or two months for them to fully recover,” Tenbusch added.

They will be available for adoption as soon as they are healthy and old enough. Anyone interested in giving one of these survivors a forever home can check their availability at Triangle Beagle Rescue’s website.
