The TravelManagers Customer Fund reaches the $1 million mark

TravelManagers Customer Fund (TCF) has reached a $1 million milestone in less than five years since its inception to provide consumers and personal travel managers (PTMs) with protection and certainty for all travel refund requirements.

The self-funded TCF used to be launched in 2022 to provide customers with certainty and protection against the risk of financial failure from an approved supplier with the ability to obtain a refund if this cannot be obtained through the customer’s travel insurance or bank.

The TCF also provides an additional security and extra layer of protection for PTMs. Eligible customers can claim up to AUD$25,000 per person.

TravelManagers COO Grant Campbell said continued contributions will accelerate the fund’s growth as the PTM network expands.

“The payments claimed so far have ensured that customers do not run out of money. At the same time, PTMs have been spared from uncomfortable conversations with customers about money lost due to the insolvency of an approved supplier,” he said.

“Anyone who has been in the industry for a while knows that things can and do go wrong, often with little or no warning.

“While we are excited to reap the benefits of the current booming state of the travel industry, TravelManagers believes in being prepared for future risks.”

Independent consumer interest group CHOICE recently highlighted the TCF in a Article from November 2023 assessing refunds to Australian travel agents, financial protection and consumer rights.
