NNL- Wikki tourists FC beats visiting Mighty Jets FC 4-1 NNL

Wikki Tourists Football Club (FC) Bauchi on Sunday defeated the visiting Mighty Jets Football Club (FC) of Jos 4-1 in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) 2023/2024.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Wikki Tourists retained the second position in Group C with 29 points from 14 matches.

NAN also reports that the match was played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

However, 25 minutes into the match, Wikki Tourists’ Ahmed Abubakar scored the first goal and the second in thirty minutes.

Abubakar of Wikki Tourists scored the third goal in 51 minutes with a good shot from 18 into the net of the visiting Mighty Jets.

However, Awolabi Aremu of Wikki Tourists scored the fourth goal in the 85th minute through a penalty.

The Mighty Jets got their first goal from a penalty through Orgonye Martins.

After the match, Mighty Jets coach Ismaila Mabo said it was a good match between two good teams. “Even if we’re not lucky.”

“We actually came to win the match, but the tables have turned. That’s normal. We have to prepare for the next match because I don’t give up easily,” he said.

Wikki Tourists coach Mohammed Azeez called the match fantastic at 4-1.

“Despite the fact that we lost one penalty, we still scored four goals. We will push harder in the next match.

“We are going to strengthen our team and ensure that we achieve our goal,” Azeez said. (NAN)
