Get your “Can” on MATBUS this week for a free ride

FARGO, ND (KVRR) — It’s that time of year, time to put your “can” in the can.

MATBUS is celebrating Earth Week by offering a free ride Monday through Saturday, April 22-27, when you donate one empty aluminum can on board.

Last year, riders donated 163 pounds of cans.

MATBUS started the promotion in 1992 and has done so every year except during the pandemic in 2020.

This year’s proceeds will go to Homeward Animal Shelter.

The promotion is not valid on the reservation-only MAT Paratransit service.
