AltProteins will return later this year

Food Frontier’s AltProteins conference is back for another year and early bird tickets are now available.

Held in Melbourne on Thursday, October 10, AltProteins 24 is being promoted as essential for anyone involved in or intrigued by the plant-based food, cultured meat or precision fermentation industries. This includes those in primary production, investment, research and development, academia, government, manufacturing, food service and retail.

Food Frontier CEO Dr Simon Eassom says sustainability is undoubtedly a top priority for many food companies and while it is an inherent benefit of alternative protein products, it is still an issue that manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and retailers need to address.

“We also need governments to implement policies and financing, we need companies to invest and collaborate, we need academia and research to prioritize R&D, and ultimately we need consumers to adopt more sustainable food,” says he.

“AltProteins 24 will include a debate on the most efficient strategies for advancing the food-as-climate change agenda and promoting alternative proteins as a viable solution. We look forward to this discussion, which will involve experts from many different disciplines.”

AltProteins 24 will offer workshops on access to global markets, cellular agriculture that bridges the evidence gaps related to accountability, and the pressing challenges and solutions facing cultured meat.

Last year the conference attracted more than 400 participants.

AltProteins 24 welcomes the Victorian Government as a headline sponsor with support from Agriculture Victoria, Global Victoria and Invest Victoria. Other sponsors include Merck, Eden Brew, Tetra Pak, Rockwell Automation, v2food and Unigrain.
