Fire: fire in reception area near Gir, no casualties | Rajkot News

Rajkot: A massive fire was reported from the revenue area of ​​Ambardi village near Gir forest in Dhari taluka of Amreli district on Sunday. Forest officials said there were no casualties, either among people or wildlife. An investigation was ordered to determine the cause of the fire as several wild animals have been spotted near Ambardi. Ambardi village is surrounded by the Gir forest range and various wild animals including the Asiatic lions have been spotted in the revenue forests. According to Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Rajdeepsinh Jhala, the fire was reported from a forest area that falls in the village’s revenue area. “I received a message around 1pm that there was a huge fire in the forest when I visited the Dhari safari park. I could see the smoke near the village of Ambardi. I sent the forest staff to investigate and they reported that the fire was in the revenue area. However, no people or animals were injured in the fire,” Jhala told TOI. Teams of forest rangers, fire brigades and local farmers rushed to the spot and started efforts to extinguish the fire.
