Chicago couple charged with shoplifting – First state update

Authorities arrested Fabian Jaworski, age 35, and Sandra Zelinska, age 34, both residents of Chicago, Illinois, on charges of shoplifting. The arrests occurred Saturday following a reported theft at Lowe’s on Hessler Boulevard in New Castle.

Delaware State Police were alerted around 11:12 a.m. to the theft involving a man and a woman who allegedly absconded with merchandise from the Lowe’s store before fleeing in a Chrysler minivan. The suspects were then spotted at a Dunkin’ Donuts on Concord Pike in Wilmington, where police were able to apprehend them.

Following their arrest, police recovered stolen property totaling more than $4,000, including items taken from another Lowe’s location in Bear, valued at more than $450, and merchandise valued at more than $1,900 from the Hessler Boulevard store.

Jaworski has been charged with several crimes, including shoplifting over $1,500, receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, shoplifting under $1,500 and third-degree conspiracy. Following his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an $8,000 cash bond.

Zelinska faces similar charges, including shoplifting over $1,500, receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, shoplifting under $1,500 and third-degree conspiracy. She was also arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and is committed to the Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution on an $8,000 cash bond.
