The Netflix series to watch after 3 Body Problem

Netflix dramas about the end of the world are apparently all the rage right now. 3 Body problem, for example, currently remains one of the streamer’s biggest shows across the entire platform – and for good reason, thanks to the many grand and super interesting ideas it explores, like the importance of science to the survival of a civilization. And just like 3 Body problem tackles humanity’s response to the existential threat of an alien invasion, an all-new Netflix series just around the corner will attempt something similar (the big threat comes in the form of an asteroid colliding with Earth) .

The characters in it 3 Body problem had hundreds of years to plan a response to the alien invasion. In Goodbye Earththat new Korean Netflix series debuting on April 26the characters have only 200 days before the asteroid collision. “The once peaceful city of Woongcheon is now turned upside down by a chilling emergency siren and news of an impending asteroid impact,” Netflix explains about the new series.

“Now that the Korean Peninsula has been declared a danger zone, society is descending into madness with protests, crime and soldier impersonations running rampant.”

This twelve-episode drama is definitely going to be a series worth watching, for at least two reasons. Korean dramas, as a rule, are almost always a cut above the rest on Netflix in terms of everything from production quality to how well-written the story portion is (compared to a lot of American Netflix junk). Also, Goodbye Earth is directed by Kim Jin-min, who was also behind two other top-notch Korean Netflix series: Extracurricular activitiesand the crime drama My name.

“Amid the chaos,” Netflix continues, “viewers follow three main characters: Se-kyung (Ahn Eun-jin), a high school teacher, fights tooth and nail to protect children who have become targets of crime, and is faced with the harsh reality that they will never grow up. Sung-jae (Jeon Seong-woo), a priest, offers comfort to his shocked community. Meanwhile, In-a (Kim Yoon-hye), a battalion commander, works tirelessly to keep the peace and protect people in these challenging times.”

In Goodbye Earth, based on the novel of the same name by Japanese author Kotaro Isaka, we will discover what life would be like if people knew that the Earth would end in just 200 days. A frightening prospect, but one that will undoubtedly make for an exciting and compelling Netflix series.
