Police officer stabs man to death in Lagos shopping center

A police officer stabbed Anosikwa Patrick to death at a shopping center in Ajah area of ​​Lagos State.

The incident took place on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, identified the officer as Inspector Taofeek and assured that justice will be served.

“The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Anosikwa Patrick, who was allegedly stabbed by a police officer at Skymall Mall, Ajah on Saturday, April 20, 2024,” the statement said.

“The mall’s manager and chief security officer are already in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, the police officer has been identified as Inspr Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF Squadron to Lagos.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, MNI has directed detectives from the Homicide Division of the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure speedy and diligent investigation to ensure that the perpetrator is brought to justice.”

“The public will be kept informed of the investigation as it progresses.”
