FPU police officer killed in fatal accident in Kyekye, buried

One of the three (3) police officers of the Formed Police Unit (FPU) who died in a gruesome accident in Kyekyewere along the Accra – Kumasi highway on March 27, 2024, was buried in his hometown on April 21.

The remains of the late Corporal Asamoah Emmanuel were buried in Agogo, his birthplace in Asante Akim North Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Among the Ghana Police Service team that attended the funeral to mourn, including the relatives; COP Mr. Okyere Darko Director of Legal Affairs and Prosecution, COP Mr. Frimpong Wilfred Boahen Director of Special Duties, DCOP Mr. Gabriel Waabu Director of Research and Planning and ACS Mr. Oponi Kojo Abreawah Esq Regional Commander Ashanti Central and other top officials.

It would be recalled that on March 27, 2024, MyNewsGh.com reported that three (3) police officers were declared dead while en route to the Kwahu Easter festivities in the Eastern Region.

The deceased persons included; Inspector Theresa Zampiaw, Chief Inspector Michael Adzaho alias Akatsi Abor and General Corporal Emmanuel Asamoah.

They were killed in Kyekyewere along the Accra – Kumasi highway when the vehicle they were driving was involved in an accident.

One General Corporal Samuel Jude Koufi, who suffered life-threatening injuries according to an official police statement, is being treated.
