I’m A Celebrity’s Skye Wheatley responds to ‘deal’ rumor with a surprising revelation

Reality star and influencer Skye Wheatley was crowned the winner I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! last night she won over Aussie fans with her humour, authenticity and willingness to do anything and everything during her time in the jungle.

In the week prior to the final Daily Mail Australia reported that According to a production insider, Skye may have only agreed to go on the show if she knew she would win. The insider claimed her time on the show was very carefully planned and she was confident she would make it to the final.

Now, Skye has hit back at the claims, telling Yahoo Lifestyle that the rumor is not true and that the rumor was “laughable.”

“That’s mind-bending to me,” Skye laughed. “I don’t know where it (the rumors) start, I’d like to be there, like you just made this up out of nowhere? I’d like to be a fly on the wall.”

Skye went on to say that when she first got the call, she actually offered to do the show for free.

“It’s laughable, it’s actually crazy, and I feel like I’m shocked. That’s actually crazy, because when they called me and said, ‘Do you want to do the show?’ I said, ‘Honey, I’d do it for free!’ That’s crazy to me now. So I thought, what are these people talking about, because I said I’d do it for free!

Skye considered her time in the jungle to be on par with childbirth, but she has no regrets about embarking on the experience, saying she “underestimated” herself.

“I really underestimated how hard it would be, it was honestly the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “I would put it on the board as a delivery. It’s been quite a challenge, but so rewarding at the same time.

“When I was there during the trials, I was like, ‘Holy guacamole, it’s so intense!’ I didn’t get a break! I didn’t get a day off, but that’s the whole point of it, and I felt like I overcame so much while I was in the jungle,” she said.

“Me being proud of myself showed Australia that they could be proud of me too. It feels really good because it was a huge, huge achievement for me.”
