Lee Chong Wei and family stranded in Paris” “I Miss Nasi Lemak”

Datuk Lee Chong Wei flew to Paris with his family last weekend “the Paris 100 Sino-French Badminton Charity Gala” which coincided with the 100-day countdown to the Paris Olympic Games. At the same time, he also celebrated the 11th birthday of his son, Kingston.

However, after a weekend of fun and cake, his journey home was disrupted by an unexpected twist when his flight was delayed due to the flooding in Dubai. Their inability to travel to Dubai International Airport has left the family stranded in the city of love for another day and it is in this state that the famous Malaysian badminton player started craving some soul food.

“I’m stuck in Paris. I miss Nasi Lemak,The three-time medalist wrote on his Instagram Story, alongside a photo of himself sitting tiredly. When contacted by Timesport, he revealed that he had tried alternative arrangements but to no avail as most flights had been cancelled. Fortunately, the Lee family is flying back to Malaysia today (Monday, April 22)

In addition to longing for the national meal, Chong Wei also said how much he misses his youngest son, Anson, who did not join the trip. He wrote “still in Paris, see you soon Anson,” with a photo of his young toddler. Later that evening he stated in another story post: “Anson boy, you are a brave boy, Papa Mama misses you already,”

According to his latest Instagram Story post today, the former athlete is still at Charles de Gaulle Airport, currently waiting for his flight, while his sons enjoy their cotton candy. Hopefully Chong Wei can enjoy his Nasi Lemak soon.
